Titoki School was established in 1907, renamed Titoki District High School in 1950 and Mangakahia Area School in 1976. Mangakahia Area School had its centennial in 2007.

CURRENT VACANCIES
TEACHING ROLES
Secondary teacher (permanent)
We are seeking an exceptional teacher with the ability to teach up to NCEA Level 3 in one or more of the following curriculum areas: Maths, Science, English, Te Reo Māori or Te Ao Haka. We are a well resourced year 1-13 school situated 25 minutes drive from Whangārei. Applicants may be eligible for an additional payment of up to $40,000 over five years through the Teacher Bonding Scheme. This is a permanent position starting at the beginning of the 2027 academic year. Those seeking full time or part time teaching roles will be considered.

Primary release teacher (fixed term)
We are seeking an exceptional teacher with the ability to release primary multi-level classes from years 1 - year 8. We are a well resourced year 1-13 school situated 25 minutes drive from Whangārei. This is a fixed term, part-time position starting at the beginning of the 2027 academic year. Kitchen Manager: We seek a proactive, organised professional with a proven track record of performance in a busy environment to support the provision of healthy school lunches.
Key responsibilities will include:

Providing high quality, nutritious food to all students on a daily basis

Preparing lunches in accordance with best practice health, safety and hygiene standards

Managing the Food Control Plan, including regular and accurate record keeping

Managing the budget, including ordering supplies in a timely manner
Previous experience and knowledge about food safety and preparation within a busy environment is advantageous for this position.
This is a term time only role, from 8.30am - 1.00pm each weekday, starting on Tuesday 26th January, 2027 until Friday 10th December, 2027. The period of fixed term is due to the Ministry of Education’s fixed term funding agreement with schools.
Rate of pay: $29.60 per hour.
